Salary:      Depends on Experience – Based on State Certificated Salary Scale

Qualifications:                     

  1. Valid degree from an accredited college or university
  2. Current Washington State Teaching Certificate with proper endorsements
  3. Meet Highly Qualified Designation requirements for areas of core instruction
  4. Have or can obtain clearance from Washington State Patrol and FBI background check          

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in with ELA endorsement
  2. Three to five years of teaching experience in the appropriate area
  3. Multiple areas of endorsement

Knowledge and Abilities: 

  1. Demonstrate effective instruction; facilitate engaged learning; and, can acquire and record quality evidence of learning through multiple types of assessments.
  2. Demonstrate organizational skills and computer skills necessary for supporting instruction.
  3. Ability to take and follow directions.  Must understand and maintain confidentiality.
  4. Creative and caring with a commitment to education for all students.
  5. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
  6. Implement Common Core Standards and prepare students for state testing.
  7. Demonstrate constructive and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and work effectively with students, parents and cohorts

  1. Meet and instruct assigned classes at the location and the time designated.
  2. Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
  3. Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for individual interests and learning styles of students.
  4. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals by establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and communicating these objectives to students. 
  5. Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, District policy and administrative regulations 
  6. Maintain good order and discipline in the classroom at all times.
  7. Work to establish open lines of communication with administration, fellow teachers, parents, and students.
  8. Meet and confer with colleagues, support staff, students, and /or parents on regular basis.
  9. Maintain a positive attitude, good work ethic, and demonstrate promptness in work arrival and in accomplishing all tasks.
  10. Perform other necessary and reasonable duties as assigned.
